With acclaimed albums as a leader, many recordings as a sideman, and performances across the United States and Central America, Nicaraguan pianist and composer Darwin Noguera is considered a rising star in the new generation of Jazz pianists. Noguera moves like a fish in the water, employing the same prowess in Jazz as he does in Latin idioms. He draws from a range of musical influences, including Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans Danilo Perez, U2, & Clifford Brown.
Darwin’s latest project is the Continuum Trio, which consists of Bassist Tamir Schmirling, and Drummer Philippe Lemm. This project delves into rich traditional hymns & Spirituals, exploring the modern harmonic and rhythmic possibilities that these themes so easily lend themselves to.
Darwin graduated from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music masters program in Jazz and has performed with artists such as; Paquito D’Rivera, Giovanni Hidalgo, Steve Turre, Ira Sullivan, Howard Levy, Ralph Irizarry, among others.
